A disabled person is a person whose certain movements, senses or functions are restricted due to injury or a physical or mental disorder. Disabilities may be congenital or may arise as a result of acquired diseases or accidents. According to the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, the term disability is used for the state of being disabled. Disabled people; By asserting the body's sensory, functional, mental and spiritual differences; They may encounter restrictions and obstacles in many areas of life as a result of social or administrative attitudes and preferences. There are many disabled individuals in our society. One of the biggest problems of disabled people is the way the social environment approaches the individual. Those with mild disabilities can meet their special needs (food, toilet, etc.). Severely disabled people can meet their special or vital needs only with the help of someone else. they can afford it. Generally speaking, there are three main types of disability. It seems that an obstacle in the sense of the integrity of the body indirectly creates obstacles for the individual in many different and different ways. Invisible disabilities are not immediately obvious, typically chronic diseases and conditions that significantly impair normal activities of daily living. These 3 main types of disabilities are: 1. Physiological Disability: The person becomes physiologically disabled if the condition occurs due to the dysfunction of the vital organs in the body due to a congenital or acquired disease or accident. Mobility disorders, respiratory disorders, organ failures are examples of this. 2. Mental - Neurological Control Problem: Congenital or acquired hearing or visual impairment, or in a broader context, situations where the brain is unable to perceive and interpret what it perceives correctly, are classified as perceptual disabilities. These include learning disorders, attention deficits/deficiencies, visual disorders (blindness), hearing disorders (deafness), psychiatric disorders (emotional perception disorders, social disorders; problems interpreting what is perceived, false impulses, etc.). 3. Physical Disability: It is a generally named disability category where freedom of physical movement is restricted in cases such as loss of limbs such as hands and feet or limb paralysis, which technically do not affect the body's life functions much. For example, walking disability, orthopedic disability, etc. The general purpose of the "Research on Treatment of Disabled Children" project is to raise awareness about disabled individuals by conducting research on the disability status and types of the project participants detailed above, presenting this information to the project participants and through various events organized.
