Objectives

The "Game It till you Make It" project aimed to address the lack of engagement and motivation observed in traditional learning environments by introducing gamification and game-based learning methodologies. By sharing knowledge and best practices, the project sought to empower youth to apply game design elements in their daily lives, careers, and learning processes, thereby fostering increased motivation, competitiveness, and productivity. The project explored the concepts of gamification and game-based learning, identifying the added value for participants in applying game design elements to their daily lives, careers, and learning processes. It also highlighted the differences between gamification and game-based learning, while sharing gamified tools and tools that facilitate the gamification of learning experiences. Additionally, the project showcased best gamified practices and allowed participants to experience their advantages over traditional learning experiences. Bringing together more and less experienced organizations from six different countries in Mersin, Türkiye, the project created an environment for partners to share their expertise and educate participants, equipping them with gamification skills. Participants were empowered to bring more joy to their everyday lives and become multipliers of their competencies. The project aimed to inspire participants to organize local activities and disseminate the knowledge to local organizations, volunteers, activists, and other stakeholders. "Game It till you Make It" was a mobility project based on non-formal learning methods. The methodologies discussed were considered "boosters" of non-formal learning, making it beneficial for partner organizations to organize these activities and apply them to their future projects. Participants engaged in workshops, discussions, debates, games, gamification of situations, role-plays, simulations, masterclasses, and practical applications of their ideas.
