Objectives

With the implementation of our project, our primary goal was to ensure that young people, volunteers, youth workers and civil society organizations active in the youth field have a deep understanding of the European Green Deal and integrate this understanding into youth work. In this context, with our project, we aimed to reorganize youth work and methodologies used in youth work in line with the European Green Deal, to harmonize the activities of youth organizations with this deal and to create an accreditation system called "Green Yo(E)Uth Worker". However, during the progress of the project, it was decided that in order to achieve the set objectives, it would be more appropriate to develop a policy document and toolkit in this field instead of creating an accreditation system. With this change, the objectives of the project included training youth workers and trainers to align with the European Green Deal, aligning youth work and methodologies with the deal, and restructuring the activities of youth organizations in line with the deal. The policy paper and toolkit developed provided a resource to guide this process and provide participants with a detailed overview of the key principles of the European Green Deal, how to integrate these principles in youth work and how youth organizations can align their activities with the deal. As a result, the implementation of our project aimed to raise awareness of youth workers and trainers about the European Green Deal, to develop youth work and methodologies in line with the deal, and to reshape the activities of youth organizations in line with the deal. In line with these objectives, our project has taken an important step towards compliance with the European Green Deal and contributed to raising awareness on sustainability in the youth field.
