Objectives

The Project on Personnel Rights of Young Civil Servants is an Erasmus+ KA154 Youth Participation Project conducted in collaboration with the coordination of the Confederation of Public Servants Trade Unions and the partnership of the Civil Life Association, Civil Society Supporter Association, Mozaik Human Resources Development, and Sakarya Trade Union of Educators Association. The main objective of this project was to identify the challenges faced by young civil servants and prospective civil servants aged 18-30 in their professional lives, develop solutions to these problems, and understand their expectations and demands. The project aimed to improve the individual and professional skills of the target audience, enhance their employment rights, increase productivity and efficiency, ensure harmony between managers and employees, and strengthen the sense of public belonging. In line with these goals, 7 workshops were organized in 7 regions of Türkiye, a national summit was held in Ankara, and a survey was conducted on 1700 young civil servants. Additionally, a policy proposal text focusing on civil service issues and solutions was developed. The project officially started on December 1, 2022, and was completed on September 30, 2023. Supported by the Türkiye National Agency with the contract number 2022-1-TR01-KA154-YOU-000069414, this project made a comprehensive effort to improve the working lives of young civil servants and provide practical and sustainable solutions to the challenges they face. With the implementation of the project, the aim is to improve the employment rights of young civil servants working in the public sector in Türkiye and enhance the overall working conditions. According to the 2021 data from the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, a total of 4,876,203 personnel are employed in the public sector in Turkey, with a significant portion of the workforce being young. The goal of this project, led by Genç Memur-Sen (Young Civil Servants Union), is to identify the challenges faced by young civil servants in their professional lives, provide solutions to these challenges, and ensure that the voices of young civil servants are heard. The key objectives of our project are as follows: Improvement of Young Civil Servants' Employment Rights: Enhance the employment rights of young civil servants in the public sector to create a more just and efficient working environment.
