Objectives

When natural disasters around the world are considered, it is seen that 28 of 31 natural disasters are formed by meteorological disasters. The types and order of importance of natural disasters also vary from country to country. For example, natural disasters in the Mediterranean Region are drought, floods, forest fires, landslides, hailstorms, avalanches, and frosts. In our country, the most common meteorological natural disasters are hail, floods, floods, frost, forest fires, drought, heavy rain, strong wind, lightning, avalanche, snow and storms. According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), 700,000 people in the world lost their lives due to meteorological disasters in the 1980s alone (MMO, 1999). The house we live in, the schools we attend lectures at, the stores we go to for shopping, or the markets, entertainment and cultural centers, and the workplaces where we work are one of the most important factors affecting the damage we may incur in the event of a disaster. A significant part of the structural risks in our country arises from non-compliance with standards and regulations in construction. In order to prevent great loss of life and property in the face of possible disasters, buildings with insufficient security should be strengthened or demolished and rebuilt. Although an earthquake is an unavoidable and unavoidable natural disaster, it has been achieved to minimize the damages of this natural disaster, especially in Japan, one of the main earthquake countries, both with the laws and regulations and the training provided. Since we are at risk in the 1st degree in Sakarya, we aim to minimize the damages of natural disasters. Let's explain the issues you want to address, the needs, and the goals of your project: -To explain the risk of disaster to young people internationally with DiscoverEU, -To raise awareness about earthquake -To raise awareness about earthquake -To provide an understanding of the destructive effects of the earthquake in the light of statistical data -To raise awareness and awareness about first aid -To ensure that the importance of the earthquake issue is understood on a national and international scale. -Learning what to do before, during and after the earthquake -To draw attention to the importance of earthquake drills and to ensure that they are carried out regularly -To ensure that especially the young generation has high-level knowledge on emergency response and first aid and transfer this knowledge to other individuals by transferring this knowledge to their lives. -To ensure that individuals of all age groups learn the basic first aid interventions, regardless of age. -Correcting the well-known mistakes about the earthquake -To ensure that vital issues such as earthquake bags are comprehended -Minimizing the devastating damage caused by earthquakes in our country and creating a roadmap for what needs to be done. -To be a motivating force for countries to regulate their laws by drawing attention to the earthquake issue in our country and around the world. -To increase the activities of non-governmental organizations about earthquakes. Since disaster and earthquake reality is a common problem of the world and Europe, and Turkey is a part of the European Civil Protection system, we have prepared this project because we aim to be prepared for disasters, take part in local, national and international activities, and experience disaster awareness at every moment of their lives. and we created routes with discoverEU to European countries with high disaster risk like us. As AFAD Sakarya provincial directorate, we focus on these activities so that our 400 young people, aged 18, who are active and take part in all our activities, benefit from these studies.
