Objectives

One of the main institutional objectives of Istanbul Technical University’s (ITU) 2022–2026 Strategic Plan is to strengthen internationalization initiatives, enhance its global profile, and establish ITU as a preferred institution worldwide. By implementing the KA171 Project, ITU aimed to put this strategy into practice. As a leading technical university, ITU sought to combine scientific excellence with practical innovation, while aligning with the EU’s horizontal priorities of digitalisation and sustainability. The mobilities carried out within the project were designed to enrich the international experiences of students and staff, provide opportunities for education, research, and professional engagement abroad, and strengthen ITU’s international competitiveness and visibility. In addition, the project supported personal and academic development, promoted sustainable practices in education and research, and enhanced digital skills and competences. Through these activities, participants also improved their language proficiency, intercultural awareness, and international networks, thereby contributing to ITU’s mission of generating global knowledge, innovation, and sustainable development.
