The Erasmus+ KA171 project is fully aligned with METU’s strategic goals and internationalization priorities. Through this project, METU aims to: Enhance the number of outgoing student and staff mobilities, while increasing the share of international degree and exchange students to at least 10% of its population. Attract talented international students from partner regions, especially those with strong historical and socio-cultural ties with Türkiye. Broaden EU-funded cooperation with highly ranked HEIs (top-500 in THE & QS rankings) and institutions with compatible curricula and academic strengths. Strengthen METU’s multinational environment by internationalizing curricula and fostering a culturally diverse campus life. Support staff and graduate student mobility to foster research cooperation, future joint projects, and publications, in line with METU’s 170 graduate programs and TechnoPark capacity. Provide administrative staff with international exposure and language practice, helping them develop professional skills and a global perspective. Since 2015, METU has actively engaged in KA107/KA171 projects, building over 180 new partnerships in 40+ countries.
