The aim of our project proposal was to contribute to the spread of Smart Agriculture/Agriculture 4.0 and thus to environmental sustainability in cooperation with EU partners. With this project, raising awareness of smart agriculture at European level gave us a vision in adult education. It was planned to gain a new learning and teaching approach in the training given by our institution to adult farmers.
The biggest step in implementing Smart Agricultural Practices was developing awareness and breaking down prejudices. Awareness-raising was our first priority on the way forward. We said that in order to raise awareness of Smart Agricultural Practices at a European level, we first needed to raise awareness locally. The world population was growing every day and we had to have enough food. We needed to know that we had limited natural resources. We had to use smart agricultural systems for all of them. Our institution and one of our local partners, the Efeler Chamber of Agriculture, work with the farmers. When we were working with the farmers, we wanted to guide them towards smart agriculture, so we wanted to improve our experience in smart agriculture. Our other local partner Tabit was using smart systems. So seeing different smart systems was very important for them to improve. Our international partners needed to study smart systems in our country and it is necessary to ensure mutual exchange of information. It was the best way to transfer our good practices to Europe and to transfer the good practices in Europe to our farmers.
