Objectives

- Promoting cooperation between research, business and education to tackle environmental challenges and contribute to achieving European climate targets - Addressing the training needs of the present and future by developing more effective & sustainable learning methods - Digitalization of vocational education and training (VET) - Raising public awareness of the potential applications of green hydrogen technology - Integration of green skills development in vocational education and training - Increasing the attractiveness of training skilled workers by applying new learning methods and integrating future-oriented technologies

Background

As a project consortium, we are convinced that green hydrogen can and will play a decisive role in the EU's decarbonization strategy (source: Council of the European Union https://europa.eu/!3w9YJK). In addition, green hydrogen in particular will help to achieve the goal of increasing the share of renewable energies in the EU's total energy consumption to 40% by 2030 and thus ensure climate neutrality by 2050 (source: https://commission.europa.eu/topics/energy_de). However, in order to bring this complex topic to the target groups (apprentices, pupils and skilled workers), innovative, understandable and playful methods such as virtual reality (VR) are needed to get young people in particular interested in this technology in the long term. The needs addressed include: Environment and sustainability, green education and sustainability education, technological advancement in vocational education and training, as well as transnational European cooperation.
