Our gap analysis and studies in partner countries revealed that many young people lack understanding of the voting process, from election campaigns to casting votes. This leads to the belief that their voice doesn't matter, fostering disinformation, reliance on unverified sources, and radicalism. To counter this, we aim to raise awareness of civic activism and educate youth on how political systems and campaigns function. Our goal is to teach active citizenship, critical evaluation of campaigns, and ethical campaigning. Using simulation games, videos, and events, we make politics more accessible through “learning by doing.” Key resources include Agora’s Media Library, the Agora NextGen Simulation Game, and an Advocacy Guidebook. These tools build youth competences, support quality in youth work, and enhance digital skills among young people, youth workers, and stakeholders through wide dissemination.
Our work highlights young people's limited engagement with their political environment due to insufficient knowledge. We aim to ignite and sustain their interest, motivating them to participate actively. The project focuses on educating future voters and enlightening those disinterested due to a lack of awareness. It also enhances youth workers' capacities through innovative digital tools. Mentorship ensures sustainability, aiming to empower adolescents and young adults to engage in local and global political processes. Our efforts align with European Youth Goals: fostering youth-EU connection, promoting informed dialogue, enhancing learning quality, and expanding youth participation and autonomy.
