Objectives

The purpose of the project “Youth Make a Pact with Earth” was to increase the knowledge of 50 young people from 5 countries about the European Green Deal and to support them in taking actions in their communities and at international level following the European Climate Pact. One of the main objectives achieved was to bring together youth from 5 different communities with different backgrounds so they can exchange ideas, share experiences and organise workshops about the 5 Green areas of action for the European Climate Pact. Also, we wanted them to get together to share ideas about the specific and specialised knowledge for the European Green Deal. The project also wanted to offer the youth a proper environment where they gathered and discussed in small and big groups, debated, held presentations and where they developed the necessary 8 key competences and relevant soft skills. They talked to find useful and creative solutions to take actions at local and international level in the field of climate action for the European Green Deal. We also supported the youth in creating a series of media products (motivational movies, posters, video and written personal testimonials) which were used in order to promote the solutions found and encourage around 1500 young people from all the online communities to become proactive by being part of the European Climate Pact. We set an example with our own Pledges for Climate Change in the hope to inspire others to follow us. Another objective was to guide the 50 youth in planning the implementation of their local and international face-to-face actions which reached another 150 youth and had a greater overall positive impact. Finally, we increased the knowledge of the youth regarding Erasmus+ Programme and other opportunities for the youth supported by E.U. by having them share personal experiences. This resulted in a prolific space during the mobility for the youth to tie future collaborations in the Erasmus+ area and beyond.
