The "21st century school" project offers participants opportunities for development within the overall school development plan. It is aimed at increasing the motivation and professional and language competences of teachers, assimilation and application of innovative teaching methods and tools, namely the STEM/STEAM approach. One of its main advantages is the unification of individual subjects into an integrated curriculum. Each lesson, in addition to knowledge, leads to the acquisition of various skills and competencies. Through the STEM / STEAM methodology, students take part in experiments, are encouraged to share their ideas and contribute to the development of group projects aimed at learning about the world around them. Last but not least is that the participation of school staff in international mobility leads improves teaching and the inclusion of students, the promotion of linguistic diversity in the EU and intercultural awareness, the promotion of quality improvements in education and the implementation of innovations.
The Erasmus+ program gives us the opportunity to increase our qualifications and improve our language skills, competences, meeting colleagues, making contacts and exchanging experiences, getting to know foreign countries and cultures. The choice of course was influenced by the need to adopt and improve a new type of teaching with a more practical focus. One of the main advantages of the STEM / STEAM approach is the integration of individual subjects into an integrated curriculum. Each lesson, in addition to knowledge, leads to the acquisition of various skills and competencies. The sooner we start with the basics of the STEM / STEAM approach, the better. Early experiences and learning shape the development of a child's brain. The earlier adults guide and support children in rediscovering the wonders of the technological world and science, the more likely children will develop an interest in and focus on these disciplines. Applying STEM / STEAM in the classroom helps students develop skills they will need in life outside of school. The key to the STEM / STEAM approach is that all learning activities are based on solving real-world problems.
