The motivation for applying for the NEW opportunities for adult female victims of violence through art project stemmed from the urgent need to address the widespread issue of gender-based violence and its impact on women’s mental health and well-being. Statistics showed a significant prevalence of physical and sexual violence among women in the EU, particularly those aged 18-29, many of whom remain silent due to feelings of shame, guilt, and fear. This silence leads to further marginalization and psychological trauma. The project aimed to address these mental health challenges by offering therapeutic and empowering activities that help victims heal through art. Additionally, the project sought to promote an environment of inclusion, as women who experience violence often feel excluded from society. By creating a safe space for them to express themselves, develop new skills, and rebuild their confidence, the project aimed to foster healing and empowerment. Finally, the project aimed to raise awareness about gender-based violence, challenge societal stereotypes, and promote gender equality, addressing the lack of support and understanding these women often face.
