Objectives

There project objectives were: - To develop guidelines, self-assessment digital tool and to implement a programme to prevent possible Burnout syndrome among teachers as post-COVID measure in Bulgaria, Spain & Turkiye. - To improve teachers' mental health and well-being and to increase their stability and efficacy both as teachers and as individuals - To support their holistic thinking on their resilience towards potential Burnout syndrome behavioural characteristics - To improve the mental health support for teachers overall.

Background

The primary need addressed by the project is the prevalence of Burnout among teachers and educators in Bulgaria, Spain and Turkiye as well as on EU level. Teachers often face high levels of stress (as stated in the preliminary project need analysis), long working hours, and limited resources, which can lead to physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion. This Burnout can negatively affect their job performance, relationships with students and colleagues, and overall quality of life. By developing a self-assessment digital tool, supplied by Handbook and implemented prevention programme, this project aimed to: - Identify risk factors and early warning signs of burnout among teachers. - Provide personalized strategies and interventions to help teachers manage stress and prevent burnout. - Facilitate communication and collaboration between teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to create a supportive environment for preventing and addressing Burnout. - Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the prevention programme. The ultimal goal of this project was to promote teacher well-being, retention, and effectiveness in the classroom, ultimately benefiting students and the broader educational communities.
