Objectives

The biggest advantage of STEM education is the integration of different subjects into the curriculum to implement a larger project. This allows students to understand the connections between the subjects they study at school and to answer the questions “Why do I need this information?”, “Where will I use what I have learned?”. The main goal of this project was for all about 500 students from the 3 European countries to participate in STEM projects and work in a STEM environment. The sub-goals of the project were: - implementation of social and cultural dialogue between partners; - development of skills to develop solutions to a specific problem or task; - understanding concepts through practice, not by memorizing from a textbook; - development of creativity and critical thinking skills; - promotion of students’ determination; - promotion of social cooperation and teamwork; The implementation of cross-curricular connections and cross-curricular learning was carried out with the help of all teachers. As a final result of the project, written and printed materials, video materials, presentations, a project logo, an eTwinning portal, exhibitions and seminars were produced.

Background

One of our main goals was to respond to the education and training goals set by the European Commission for 2030, "To increase entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation activities at all levels of education". Based on this, we set ourselves the goal of reaching scientific knowledge through the use of experimental and research methods, to deal with climate change using the STEM method and to create environmental awareness among students. With the development of technology in the 21st century, the understanding of education has changed a lot and the validity of classical methods has decreased. New generation educational methods and techniques must meet the needs and expectations of our children, who start using technology effectively at an early age. This is exactly what we aimed for and that is why we are applying for this project. Through the activities in this project, we wanted to prioritize school culture, understanding EU values, developing students' skills in science and mathematics, ensuring lasting learning through the concretization of concepts, improving students' engineering skills, and creating environmental awareness.
