Objectives

Our project aimed to enhance learning through outdoor activities, making education engaging and inclusive. We focused on: 1. Using nature as an inclusive learning environment to support diverse learning needs. 2. Enhancing skill acquisition in key subjects—Language, Maths, and Science—through practical, hands-on outdoor activities. 3. Developing teachers’ abilities to integrate outdoor learning into their teaching practices, enriching educational methods. 4. Fostering hard and soft skills among students and teachers, increasing intercultural awareness and teamwork. 5. Boosting student engagement in school activities, thereby improving academic performance and school participation rates.

Background

We applied for this project to address the decreased interest and performance in school activities among students, worsened by the pandemic. Noticing that children were spending too much time indoors due to technological distractions and pandemic restrictions, we aimed to reintroduce them to outdoor learning. This approach not only supports physical health and creativity but also improves concentration and social bonds, helping integrate students facing learning challenges. Through outdoor activities, we sought to enhance engagement and educational outcomes in key subjects like Language and Science.
