With the project, we want to help people get to know our neighboring country better, find commonalities in (social) work and then pass these on to students, interns, trainees and colleagues. Intercultural competence can be improved and cooperation promoted. The aim of the project is to move from "I" to "we" through mutual understanding. The participants subsequently act as ambassadors for Europe and stand up for the importance of joint action between East and West.
As a welfare association of the Catholic Church, social coexistence is of great importance to us both in Germany and beyond. We advocate for the weak in society and support them through social work/care services. We view the political shift to the right in society with great concern, as well as the decline of the EU community of values. The covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine have further strengthened tendencies towards separation. This poses great challenges for society as a whole as well as for our employees, . Based on long-term cooperation, we can say with conviction that more unites us with our European neighbors than divides us. We would like to pass this conviction on to our instructors, who then act as multipliers for students, interns, trainees and even colleagues. Having positive experiences yourself makes it easier to stand up for something with conviction. This project was developed to enable these positive experiences to be made possible.
