Objectives

Our aim and desire was to be able to guarantee a student exchange that would build on the development and implementation of the modular concept of the KA2 project that had already taken place and thus give it continuity. Thanks to the KA2 project experience and the consistently positive feedback from our students and teachers, we wanted to enable more students to learn about career prospects and gain experience abroad. The KA1 project was intended to improve the sporting and professional qualifications of the participants. The professional and linguistic skills they acquired there will also improve their chances on the European job market. In terms of ECVET, the students were able to find out what professional standards can be expected in other countries. We also hope that the participants will benefit in the long term from the intercultural experience they have gained and incorporate this into their professional and personal development. Finally, the project should contribute to deepening the partnerships between the participating schools and create a network for future cooperation.

Background

The European Sports Academy Brandenburg (ESAB for short) is a state-recognized educational institution for the fields of sport, fitness and health. It is responsible for the University of Applied Sciences for Sport and Management and two vocational schools, where young people train to become full-time fitness and health trainers (DQR 4) and state-recognized educators (DQR 6) with a focus on exercise, nutrition and health, both full-time and part-time. as well as part-time. The curriculum of the “sports module carousel” project from the KA2 Ersamus+ project, which already took place in 2021-2023, was developed in cooperation with 4 European vocational schools, all with a sports and health-oriented focus. The participating schools each offer students a different thematic focus as part of the exchange phase. It is therefore a great enrichment for us as a school to be able to offer our students the opportunity to gain an insight into other countries and other areas of work in this professional field. During the exchange phase, we also host students from the other schools and are/were permanent partners in the “sports module carousel” project.
