Objectives

1) A united Europe and cross-national cooperation: By bringing together students of different nationalities, common values should be conveyed and brought to life. Differences and similarities between cultures should be perceived and treated with appreciation. 2) Effective internationalization: The necessary language skills and understanding of work opportunities abroad, as well as cultural expressions, should be improved. 3) Professional European network: Our goal was to establish a network that allows for regular exchange programs. From August 25 to September 7, 2024, mobility programs took place in Aarhus, and in February 2024, students from Aarhus visited us as part of an Erasmus+ project.

Background

For the Franz-Böhm-Schule (FBS), a united Europe holds significant importance. After having conducted similar projects with other countries, the collaboration with Denmark aims to further internationalization. From our perspective, such projects also make the FBS more attractive to training companies and potential students. This project is particularly relevant in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which many students had to reduce social contacts or avoid traveling, exposing them to unusual stresses. Through this project in cooperation with Aarhus Business College, intercultural experiences were gained with peers from another country, and language skills were improved. Our students were given the opportunity to establish social connections and gain initial experience in foreign businesses, which would not have been possible without the support of this Erasmus+ project. They also learned about the Danish school system and the training opportunities available there. Additionally, they gained insights into the importance of international cooperation for successful economic growth, as Germany is one of Denmark's most important trading partners.
