The project partners from Germany, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Spain and Hungary aimed in the long run to keep Roma music for coming generations and to preserve it as a part of the European cultural heritage. For that, ROMusicA should create the pre-conditions.
Opposite to the European majority, the "professionality" of Roma musicians is limited, musical talents are only rarely promoted, women have only as an exception the opportunity to sing in public or to play instruments, and there is the risk that the music of the Roma gets lost. With ROMusicA, the project partners provide the pre-conditions to balance the described differences in the long run.
