Objectives

"United" aligns with EU priorities, emphasizing "Inclusion and diversity in all fields, training, youth, and sport," and "Common values and civic engagement." Recognizing equality as fundamental, the project aims to educate staff and peers on essential European values, fostering a sustainable culture where a diverse team collaborates confidently. Upon successful completion, the project anticipates staff fully embracing Inclusion and Diversity values, actively rejecting any signs of discrimination in employment. The overarching goal is a cultural shift within organisations, facilitating better integration and collaboration with individuals facing fewer opportunities. This initiative directly contributes to the broader EU agenda of promoting equal opportunities and access to education, inclusion, diversity, and fairness. The partnering organisations, recognizing the importance of these goals, aim to enhance their capacities by instilling these values in their workforce. By nurturing a culture that values every individual irrespective of background, the project aspires to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and can contribute authentically.

Background

The consortium applied for this project as it aligns with our commitment to inclusion, diversity, and crucial issues like digitalization and the environment. The project's focus on equality resonates with our values, addressing barriers revealed by our 2021 analysis, where individuals with fewer opportunities faced challenges in accessing decent work and leadership roles. The growing international student population in Germany, especially at XU Exponential University, demands a strategic response. Our institution lacks the capacity to implement an inclusive student recruitment strategy, highlighting a clear gap this project aims to fill. This opportunity for cross-border cooperation and networking is crucial for our organisational growth. In Luxembourg, the rising international student mobility and challenges faced by foreign-born adults in employment underscore the need for action. The project's focus on narrowing workplace inequality aligns with our commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment at the vocational training centre (LCL), where communication challenges in conveying diverse learning objectives exist.
