We wanted to improve our pupils' language skills and intercultural competence. Furthermore, we intented to develop further skills in the domains of regional studies, art, culture and nature based on the project work.
Our school is located in a structurally weak rural area. For many young people, a student exchange is the first time a trip to France or even abroad at all. At our state comprehensive school, students of grammar school and secondary school learn French from the 6th or 8th grade or 7th grade, with the option of taking the Abitur or the secondary school diploma (DELF) in French. The aim of our exchange is to enable students to get to know the language and culture and to work on a project at the same time.
