The project The Story of Change was created to bring young people from Słubice, Poland, and Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, closer together and help them understand and appreciate each other’s cultures. By learning together thorugh different activties and meetings with people from different backgrounds, they can develop respect for diversity. The topic of peacewas also important for us, especially because of the recent situation in Ukraine and the fact that in the area of Słubice and Frankfurt (Oder) there is a lot of young people from Ukraine living. Main Objectives of the project were: 1. Build Cross-Cultural Friendships: Encourage young people from both towns but also young people from different backfround like Syria and Ukraine, to understand different cultures and live together peacefully and in diversity. 2. Highlight the Benefits and Importance of Cross-Border Cooperation: Show the positives of open borders and EU support, helping young people see how both countries benefit from working together, show the european opportunities of volunteering and working. 3. Promote Lifelong Learning: Provide ways for young people to learn new things informally—like languages, history, and local culture. 4. Inspire Young people to be an Active Citizenship: Motivate youth to engage with local and global area, raising awareness about diversity, inclusion, and border cooperation. 5. Develop Key Skills: Focus on building important skills like communication and teamwork, which will be valuable in future jobs and in interacting with others. 6. Use Non-Formal Education Tools: Introduce tools like Youth Pass for recognizing informal learning, helping participants track their growth and achievements. 7. Increase Awareness of Border and EU Opportunities: Emphasize the unique advantages of living on the border and being part of the EU, fostering a sense of shared European identity. In short, the project aims to create a stronger, more united community by fostering respect, learning, and cooperation among young people. It was really important for us that young people from Słubice and Frankfurt (Oder), with different background will have an opportunity to meet and speak about various topics. We strongly believe that this generation is the future and we need to continue with educationg them about importance of peace of the world. Thans to this project we wanted to show them all the advantages which comes from living in Eruope but also in the border area.
