Objectives

The main goals of the mobility project were set based on the internal evaluation report and the school development plan, where the school's main goal and need is to increase the professional skills of employees, offering opportunities to upgrade themselves through various training programs, including the Erasmus+ project. A teacher with international experience has been inspired to diversify her work thanks to the learning experience and is motivated to contribute more to her work in the future. The following goals were set for the project: - the support team has gained the knowledge how to cooperate with parents by involving them effectively; - raised awareness of different practices of inclusive education; - global education is applied as a method in the daily work of Saku Gymnasium; -knowledge of the possibilities of international cooperation and the cultures belonging to the European Union in general improves.

Background

Gymnasium is a general education community school with nearly 1500 students. According to the vision and mission of our school, we try to provide diverse development opportunities for students and create a basis for lifelong learning. An important priority of our school is also raising the qualifications of employees, rooting and introducing innovative methods, and enhancing cooperation in the family-school direction. In frame of this project, we have worked on two main topics: 1. promotion of global education- as a member of the UNESCO joint schools network and the European Parliament's partner schools program EPAS, it is very important for us to comprehensively deal with the issues and expand the world and community's awareness of these issues; 2. development of support services and cooperation with the community- the need to share responsibility for SEN students between parents, support team and school is very important, and only in this way is it possible to create a school environment that meets the child's needs and supports development. The aim of the project was to learn about different ways to get closer to parents as partners in the provision of support services.
