Objectives

The "Purpose-led, Connection-Driven" project aimed to raise awareness and enhance the skills of youth workers in the topic of emotional intelligence and well-being. Gaining the ability to manage personal and professional life effectively, and integrating emotional intelligence skills, contributed to lower stress levels, increased job satisfaction and motivation, and higher overall happiness. As a result, the project played a significant role in reducing the likelihood of burnout and other mental health issues associated with stress. The World Health Organization had identified ten essential life skills that were important for everyone, no matter their culture, education, or background. Our project focused on four of these skills: self-awareness, empathy, effective communication, and interpersonal relationships. Our project objectives: - to raise awareness and improve the emotional intelligence skills of 36 youth workers. - to help them become more aware of their emotions and learn how to handle their feelings in a positive way that doesn't hurt others. to enhance the ability to communicate empathetically. - to make these 36 youth workers better at listening deeply, speaking kindly, and promoting peaceful conversations in their relationships. - to strengthen the practice of empathetic communication within teams and organizations where these youth workers were involved. We chose to conduct a 7-day Training Course in Estonia, involving 36 youth workers from 8 different countries: Estonia, Sweden, Greece, Slovakia, Turkey, Spain, Ukraine, and Lithuania. This was followed by events in the participating countries, and we also created a toolbox called "Emotional Intelligence for Youth." This toolbox was developed to be shared across a wider European network.
