The completed project was an introduction for personal empowerment of people who teach (adult educators and teachers, educators). The analysis and summary of the project results led to an understanding of future target setting and a concrete plan of learning activities in the form of new refresher courses. We also aimed at introducing interactive learning methods based on the knowledge of group processes development and conscious guidance, as well as the development of communication skills of the professional. We chose this area because more and more learning and teaching has moved to the virtual environment, which should reduce misunderstandings between people in their professional activities. In order to move from a subject-centred to a learner-centred approach to teaching, teachers need to have personal experience of positive and productive interaction with a teaching purpose. This problem-setting required the development of an original curriculum and teaching materials. The Learning Centre Tõru also wanted to establish international contacts for further cooperation with Nordic countries in the publishing of teaching materials. At the same time, we also had to offer a handbook on methodologically teaching methods.
The aim of the project "Iseolemise julgus ja koostegemise tarkus" ("Courage to be oneself and the wisdom of cooperation") was to raise the issue of social and communicative skills on the educational landscape and to carry out the corresponding training. The humanistic understanding of the learning process is disappearing. The key competences of the teacher are now seen as coping in a virtual environment, knowledge of subject methodology and curriculum development. Among the key competences, we no longer find personal efficacy and collaborative skills, which are based on the social and communicative skills of the individual, and more generally on interpersonal skills. Teacher burnout and resignation are increasingly becoming a public issue. This is why, in addition to adult educators, we also invited teachers working in general education and vocational schools to participate in the courses. As we can see today, the willingness to stand up for oneself, is beginning to show. Dialogue in the development of key competences is a basic skill for a teacher.
