The project aimed to address eco-anxiety by equipping students and educators with knowledge, skills, and strategies to understand, manage, and take action on climate-related concerns. We sought to raise awareness of eco-anxiety, integrate it into climate education, and help participants develop soft skills such as collaboration, problem-solving, and resilience. A key goal was to promote eco-entrepreneurship, encouraging students to explore sustainable business models while learning about organic agriculture and seed preservation. To engage students effectively, we enhanced digital literacy through ecology-based games, making climate education interactive and relevant. The project also aimed to increase awareness of waste management, helping participants adopt sustainable daily habits through hands-on activities. Lastly, we prioritized dissemination of best practices at school and community levels, ensuring that the project’s impact extends beyond its direct participants and fosters a lasting culture of climate awareness and responsible action.
We applied for this project to address eco-anxiety, a psychological response to climate change that affects students and educators. While climate change education often focuses on science, its emotional impact is overlooked. Surveys showed that students and teachers experience eco-anxiety at varying levels, highlighting the need for awareness, coping strategies, and action-based solutions. The project focused on defining eco-anxiety, raising awareness, and sharing good practices. We developed soft skills through workshops, encouraged eco-entrepreneurship, and enhanced digital literacy using ecology-based games. Activities promoted organic agriculture and seed preservation, raised awareness about waste management, and engaged participants in sustainable practices. To ensure long-term impact, we prioritized local and school-level dissemination through interactive workshops, knowledge-sharing events, and digital tools. This holistic approach empowered participants to cope with eco-anxiety, take meaningful climate action, and develop skills for a sustainable future.
