The "Be Advanced" project aimed to equip dental assistants with skills to operate X-Ray machines and NNT software. Key objectives were: - Technical proficiency and data management: The goal of the project was to teach dental assistants to work with New Tom X-Ray and two X-Ray software NNT and enhance an accurate X-Ray image handling (import/export X-Ray images to/from health databases (E-pildipank, DataMed) for seamless data integration). - Experience and knowledge exchange between SPTC and RCMC to define dental assistants' roles in X-Ray operations. - Address challenges faced by assistants using X-Ray equipment and software. - Develop and create a manual/guide in Estonian, Latvian, and English to standardize training. These objectives aimed to modernize dental assistant training, enhance technical skills, and improve patient care through efficient X-Ray technology use and data management.
We applied for this project to address the critical need for advanced digital skills among dental assistants, which are essential for modern dentistry. The increasing reliance on sophisticated X-Ray machines and software, such as NNT, requires dental assistants to be proficient in these technologies to optimize clinic operations and improve patient care. This project aims to bridge the skills gap by providing specialized training, ensuring dental assistants can efficiently manage patient data within national health databases like E-pildipank and DataMed. This capability enhances data security and accessibility across healthcare providers, reducing the diagnostic workload on dentists and speeding up the treatment process. Additionally, developing a multilingual manual/guide will standardize training and support continuous professional development. By fostering collaboration between Stomatoloogia Pluss Training Center (SPTC) and Red Cross Medical College (RCMC), we aim to improve dental assistant education in Estonia and Latvia, promoting best practices and enhancing overall healthcare delivery.
