First objective was to create a new, hotel specific training program - so this could be used in the future to conduct trainings for hotel housekeeping staff (managers). Secondly we wanted to test this program and already conduct the training for two groups, to see if the curriculum needs to be improved and also to have a success story - measurable results for hotels, to prove that cleaning is a profession where you need to have specific knowledge.
Cleanliness is one of the most labor intensive department in hotels, yet hotels have not paid too much attention to development of the staff and working procedures in this department. There are modern tools and new techniques that help to make this job more efficient and save resources - energy, water and also human hours. We wanted to push the change towards efficiency and prove that professional training can help to achieve better results (cleaner hotels) yet saving costs. Unfortunately vocational schools in Estonia don't provide the education for hotel housekeepers and hotels after multiple crises are not capable to buy the training programs by experts without support measures.
