Primary objective of RSU project was to foster movement towards economic self-sufficiency through entrepreneurship, enabling refugees to rebuild their lives and integrate into the local economy. Another key goal was to provide personalized mentorship and business training, addressing both practical skills (e.g., business planning, legal regulations) and digital entrepreneurship to adapt to the evolving market. By the end of the project, RSU aimed to see participants develop their business ideas, form connections with local entrepreneurs, and gain the confidence to continue their ventures in their host countries. The project also aimed to create a digital learning platform and foster a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem, benefitting both the participants and the wider community.
The RSU project was initiated in response to the urgent needs of young Ukrainian refugees who fled the conflict in Ukraine, particularly to Estonia and Greece. These individuals, often aspiring to become entrepreneurs, faced disrupted lives and uncertain futures due to displacement. They urgently needed a platform to rebuild their livelihoods, using the skills and talents they brought with them. Economies in Estonia and Greece could benefit from new vibrant businesses launched by motivated young people. The project addresses the need for economic self-sufficiency and community integration by providing entrepreneurial support and mentoring. RSU focused on fostering entrepreneurial initiatives that allow these refugees to become independent, contribute to the local economies, and maintain hope for their future, whether they remain in their host country or return to Ukraine
