The main objective of the project was to develop high-quality, flexible, and industry-relevant web development education through two microdegree programs—one in front-end and one in back-end development. We aimed to address the shortage of skilled software developers by providing structured learning opportunities that aligned with labor market needs. Additionally, we sought to create freely accessible and easily adaptable digital learning materials to support educators and learners. By fostering international collaboration between higher education institutions and industry, we aimed to enhance digital skills, improve teaching quality, and promote lifelong learning. The project also contributed to the digital transformation of education by developing resources that could be used across different institutions and adapted to various learning environments.
We applied for this project to address the need for high-quality, flexible web development education, particularly in front-end and back-end development. The demand for skilled IT professionals in Estonia, Greece, and Turkey was increasing, but existing educational programs struggled to meet this need. There was a significant shortage of software developers, and many available learning materials were outdated and difficult to adapt. Educators also lacked the time and resources to create high-quality digital learning materials. Through this project, we developed two microdegree programs—one in front-end and one in back-end development—with freely accessible and adaptable study materials. These microdegrees supported job seekers, career changers, and lifelong learners while strengthening international cooperation. By enhancing digital skills and fostering collaboration between education and industry, the project provided innovative learning solutions that aligned with modern labor market demands.
