By implementing the Everything Stars With Health project, our primary aim was to promote healthier lifestyles among students and build lasting change through education, innovation, and inclusion. First, we aimed to reduce obesity among students aged 6 to 20 using a mix of formal, informal, and non-formal educational methods. Through engaging activities and awareness campaigns, we wanted to encourage healthier eating habits, regular physical activity, and better self-care. Second, we sought to create and apply innovative learning tools, including an OER (Open Educational Resource) e-booklet and a practical e-handbook on healthy living and balanced nutrition. These resources were designed to be accessible, reusable, and adaptable across different learning environments and schools. Third, we worked to enhance key competencies—such as digital skills, English language proficiency, and environmental awareness among pupils across partner schools. We used collaborative platforms, creative digital tools, and hands-on tasks to support this goal. Finally, we aimed to promote inclusion and social equity, particularly for students with fewer opportunities.
We applied for this project to respond to an urgent need observed in all four participating schools: an increasing number of students facing issues related to obesity, unhealthy diets, and lack of awareness about hygiene and well-being. The COVID-19 pandemic further underscored the importance of regular and healthy nutrition, hygiene, and immunity in combating illnesses. Teachers and parents noticed not only physical health concerns but also rising cases of hyperactivity and inattention in class. Our schools aimed to instill long-term healthy habits, enhance awareness around nutrition and cleanliness, and develop inclusive practices to support students from all backgrounds. The project also aimed to promote transnational collaboration and equip teachers with skills in digital tools, green competencies, and multicultural communication.
