Objectives

The objectives we set ourselves were: 1. to develop the school's European dimension -by creating cross-border cooperation between pupils and teachers -through the appropriation of the culture (including school culture) of the partner countries by the teachers in order to enrich the subject content -by developing pupils' sense of citizenship and European identity through the study of common historical foundations. -by developing the foreign language skills of staff and pupils. 2. encourage and develop innovative teaching practices -by the exchange and parallel and collaborative construction of teaching practices in modern and ancient languages, history, the arts and literature -by empowering pupils and putting their learning at the service of society (productions were intended to be put at the service of the school community and public bodies) - by the joint use of digital tools for collaborative and fictional writing, and digital tools for remote oral exchanges.

Background

The observation that motivated the project was based on the following points: The European dimension was not sufficiently integrated into subject teaching and the collège, which was involved in a previous Erasmus project, was considering renewing activities with the same partner establishment in order to establish a long-term partnership in the medium term. -Difficulties at school, particularly with language learning, persisted among socially disadvantaged pupils, some of whom were at risk of dropping out. The main difficulty lay in the transition to writing and the acquisition of cooperative behaviours for German, regular exchanges and communication between teachers and pupils from the countries concerned were still underdeveloped: bi-national, long-term cooperation on a complex civic task was planned to maintain and finalise these relations.
