Firstly, we wanted to experience new ways and methods of teaching techniques and improve our digital competencies. We wanted to learn useful applications, programs and ways to use them in our everyday education. Secondly we were desired to learn about media usage in the project based teaching and content creation in general. We were interested about the ways the Swedish teenagers use the internet, social media as a part of self-representation and identity expression and how can the school help them in this process.
Our school is located in Mezőtúr, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County. Our institution is 125 years old with a mixed profile. We have grammar school specialty up to this date with 180 students. One specialty is media and movie culture. There are 43 teachers who take part in the education of the students. We are located in a smaller city, but we have an agglomeration with 100 collage students. The school is in East-Hungary, which means we are always in a disadvantageous position compared to West-Hungary. As a consequence, our students come from a variety of backgrounds. Our teachers are mainly old, but experienced and also are open minded and ready to learn, so we are trying to make the education versatile. The Covid pandemic showed us, that we still have a lot to learn about the digital world and how to use it to our advantage in the education. Consequently, we were looking for partner schools that can show us an example in the areas we are lacking as a school.
