In addition to the development of methodological and ICT competences, the project aimed at promoting cultural renewal, strengthening EU citizenship, understanding the problem of sustainable development and raising awareness of the problem among students. Within the framework of ICT, our colleagues were introduced to new platforms to make their lessons more colourful and to better motivate their students, who were already born into the digital world, and therefore we need to make better use of digital tools and project-based learning, as well as gamification and a variety of motivational techniques. With the mobilities, we also wanted to enhance European identity and language development, because even for language teachers, language development is a constant process, as all languages change, and we need to keep track of this. It was equally essential to raise awareness among our colleagues and students of the importance of lifelong learning. Some of our staff, including our deputy head, have attended language courses, which will enable them to attend English courses in the future.
Although our institution, the Kiskőrös Petőfi Sándor Lutheran Kindergarten, Primary School, Grammar School and Technical School is the largest educational institution in our town, there is a big competition for students, especially in the secondary school, not only with the other technical school in the town but also with similar institutions in the surrounding settlements. Unfortunately, the best students in the town do not typically choose us but prefer the grammar schools in the nearby county seat, Kecskemét. Our aim was that, by implementing the project, the teachers of our school would refresh their methods, get to know new tools and become more motivated. We intended this refreshment not only to be felt by the students and the parent community at our school but also to introduce the teachers at the local schools to the new procedures through dissemination. During the mobility, we put a lot of emphasis on getting to know the issues of sustainability and strengthening European identity, as these questions are very important in Hungary today. Besides secondary school teachers, primary school teachers and our school pastor also participated in the project, so we were able to make our results widely known to our employees.
