The long-term goal of our school is the internationalization, we wish our school to turn from a sending institution into a receiving institution, and for colleagues to participate in cooperation projects together with students. To reach this, the school management created an Erasmus group, whose task is to write and coordinate this project and prepare new ones, with the ultimate goal, which is the accreditation os our institution. We want to achieve this gradually, taking into account the principle of gradation in several steps. With this project, we wanted the language competences of our school's non-linguistic teachers to improve, and the methodological culture of our colleagues to expand. We expected the colleagues participating in the mobility to try out what they learned in the methodology course, to present it to their colleagues, to teach it, and to integrate it into the everyday life of the school. We wanted to keep in touch with foreign colleagues we met on the courses in order to collaborate on further projects.
Our school, Vajda Péter Lutheran Secondary Grammar School is more than 200 years old. We are the only secondary grammar school in the Szarvas sub-region, the number of our students is 336. During the development of our training structure, we took into account the needs of students and parents, we currently offer advanced level training in English, mathematics and biology, and we also have general curriculum training. Each grade is taught in three parallel classes. The teaching staff of our school is also small, with 31 teachers. Most of them are elder, only two of us are younger than 40, including our school pastor. The teaching staff is well-educated and seizes every opportunity to participate in trainings and to expand its professional knowledge, language skills and methodological tools. Our school used to have several international relations, but due to Covid and the change of colleagues at our partner institutions, it was pushed into the background.
