Objectives

Moltoir was a training course that introduced the participants to a variety of movement practices that can be beneficial for cultural youth work. The project brought together 50 cultural youth workers from Greece, Ireland, Germany, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Spain, Austria and Palestine for a seven day training course in Ireland. The aim was to train cultural youth workers in movement methodologies that they can use with groups of young people in their own organisations, to demonstrate how this type of youth work can improve the wellbeing of young people. The project brought cultural youth workers together, mainly from youth theatre organisation backgrounds , who exchanged practice, ideas, their cultural backgrounds , and approaches to performance work with young people, in order to lay the foundations for establishing a strong network able to explore other opportunities in the Erasmus+, Creative Europe, and European Solidarity programme spaces. The objectives of the training course were : (1) To show participants ways to use various movement techniques to explore how they can enhance and support the wellbeing of young people. (2) To engage participants in reflective activities with the intention of giving them tools to process their experiences and learning on a daily basis. (3)To provide the space for participants to explore different cultures though exchange with others. (4) To share the Erasmus+ programme and introduce using it as a support for the participants' projects that extend beyond this one. (5) To enhance and share the participants' transversal skills, especially those skills developed by collaborative group work and creative, aesthetic engagement.
