Objectives

The purpose of the project is to acquire from DD staff skills and tools that are not used and well known in Italy, innovative ad hoc procedures and activities about discrimination and gender-based violence that are practiced in the EU, with particular reference to specialized antiviolence training. Through mobility activities Differenza Donna wants to increase the quality and quantity of training courses targeting professionals in the anti-violence network, training courses in the social-work field targeting women coming out of violence, the effectiveness and efficiency of the organizational procedures of the association to increase its impact on its target audience (women and children/and victims of violence).

Background

Differenza Donna is an Association founded in Rome in 1989 with the aim of bringing out, knowing, preventing and combating male violence against women. As a strategic and redesigning tool in women's lives, it activates Anti-Violence Centres, Anti-Trafficking Centres, Shelter Homes, Semi-autonomous Homes and Codice Rosa Emergency Desks. It now runs 15 Anti-Violence Centres in Lazio and Campania and since 2020 the national anti-violence and stalking hotline 1522 (Equal Opportunities Department - Presidency of the Council of Ministers). DD trains annually hundreds of professionals of the anti-violence network for the correct recognition and taking charge of situations of violence. The job shadowing activities and the specialised courses that DD staff have carried out in the European context have brought new perspectives to the participants, a European and inclusive vision of the work they do in contact with women coming out of violence, updated knowledge, new skills that have been imported, and will continue to be imported, in the anti-violence Centres and in DD's training projects, thus increasing the emergence and effectiveness of the tools the staff has for taking charge of women victims of violence.
