The Center for the Study of Maritime Civilization explores the relationships between humanity and the marine environment from an anthropological and interdisciplinary perspective. Through in-depth research, academic analysis, and multidisciplinary projects, the Center investigates the cultural, social, economic, and environmental connections that characterize human interaction with the sea. By adopting a holistic approach, the Center delves into the maritime traditions, practices, beliefs, and values of diverse communities, offering a profound understanding of the human relationship with the marine element. At the same time, it actively promotes awareness of sustainability and the conservation of marine ecosystems. Over the past 7 years, the CSCM has preserved the memory of the culture of Stintino and its connection with the sea and the traditional tuna fishing of the Tonnara, managing and "building" the MuT - Tonnara Museum of Stintino (https://www.mutstintino.com/). The specific context of our project concerns the important sector of sustainability and entrepreneurship in the Blue Economy. This sector is of growing global relevance, as it focuses on developing innovative solutions to address environmental challenges.
