FaiRevolution plays with words, associating the concept of "equity" with those of "doing", "evolution" and "revolution". From the protest, we must move on to the proposal, starting from individual consciences. FaiRevolution aimed to increase the awareness of adults (Fair Trade organisations’ staff and volunteers, teachers/educators, potential/actual Fair Trade influencers, etc.) on social-economic barriers and cultural differences, through flexible learning offers and proposing Fair Trade as an effective tool to address these challenges. Specific objectives: ● Developing a new educational and digital Toolkit to enhance a new perspective based on equity and fairness, EU common values and responsible consumption ● Training adults on inclusion and diversity issues, civic engagement, social and economic barriers, especially referred to migrations in Europe raising their awareness on Fair Trade, telling stories behind the products, highlighting the importance of daily consumption choices. ● Reinforcing the existing cooperation among project’s partners, newcomers to the programme, addressing common needs and fostering synergies.
The project targeted adults, providing them training and innovative tools, thus enhancing their awareness on complex issues, supporting them in their daily work, where inclusion, diversity, and the ecological and digital transition are priorities, encouraging active European citizenship. It aimed to foster a new concept of participation, especially in the involved countries, where a lack of economic, social and cultural integration is undermining the EU democratic values. Actually, the involved countries are (still) all facing, in different ways and depending on their political context, a common (negative) talk concerning migrants. Thus, an increased fear of foreigners is widening the gap between migrants and hosting countries, lowering the economic, cultural and social integration, raising fears and the narrative told by political extremism, instead of promoting EU values. In this context, Fair Trade, a recognized and effective tool of development, could play a crucial role with thousands of stories of relationships, people behind the products. At the same time, project’s partners, newcomers to the programme, could reinforce the existing cooperation and foster synergies.
