Objectives

The project aimed to concretely achieve the following objectives stated in the form: 1. to increase the digital skills of a group of thirty young adults; 2. to increase digital narrative products capable of effectively conveying the civic commitment supported by Third Sector organisations to the outside world; 3. to experiment distance learning methods and approaches in virtual and multilingual contexts; 4. to create digital teaching materials on digital storytelling usable online and accessible free of charge for an audience outside the project (volunteers, teachers, social workers, citizens, etc.); 5. to create a platform dedicated to digital storytelling for the Third Sector; 6. to increase participants' interest in volunteering and consequently foster their active participation in their communities; 7. to promote youth volunteering and the generational change of the associative structures; 8. to strengthen the networks of relations between the stakeholders representing the respective communities 9. to make the participants' skills available to the Third Sector realities, rooted in the three territorial contexts.

Background

The candidature of the project on the "Erasmus+ small scale" call for proposals arose from the need felt and shared, in different forms and from different educational perspectives, by the subjects making up the partnership to favour the increase or enhancement of narrative-digital skills of a group of young citizens in a community development dimension, starting from the importance of digital storytelling for the Third Sector, in Italy and in general for European non-profit organisations. In addition to this main need of a training nature (the acquisition of digital storytelling techniques and tools), two others were identified in the planning phase: the consolidation of the use of distance learning methodologies (also in asynchronous mode) and the involvement of volunteer networks in their respective national territorial contexts. Lastly, the desire to support the promotion of youth volunteering and initiate paths of knowledge of the associations involved in order to envisage in the near future the generational change that the Third Sector constantly needs.
