Objectives

This project aimed to integrate individuals with intellectual disabilities into digital society by enhancing their skills, enabling equal access to technology, and promoting inclusive digital tools for social and technological adaptation. Our goals have been: - Integrating individuals with intellectual disabilities into the digitalized social environment by enhancing their skills and digital authority to participate actively in society - Helping them adapt to Society 5.0 by improving their competencies to leverage technology for smart, proactive solutions that address their needs - Promoting the development of inclusive digital tools and ensuring equal access to the benefits of digital transformation for all individuals

Background

The project aimed to foster social inclusion and digital empowerment for individuals with mental disabilities by addressing the barriers they faced in using digital tools. A survey revealed that only a small number of mentally disabled individuals could use digital tools effectively, primarily due to orientation and lack of education. The initiative sought to dismantle societal perceptions that mentally disabled individuals could not be educated, helping them overcome dependency, achieve autonomy, and participate productively in society. Aligned with the EU 2021-2027 priorities and the European Commission's 2021-2030 Disability Rights Strategy, the project focused on digitalization, inclusion and active participation in democratic life. It aimed to create a barrier-free Europe, ensuring people with disabilities could fully benefit from their rights and access user-friendly digital public services. By integrating digital approaches and collaborating with partners, the project contributed to an empowered, inclusive digital society.
