By launching the "Youth Democracy Agents" project in Sanem, Luxembourg, with preparatory visit and a youth exchange spanning from July to August 2023, our ambition was to create a transformative experience for young Europeans. Our vision was to immerse participants in a vibrant exchange of ideas, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for democratic values, peace, and intercultural dialogue. We aimed to cultivate a sense of European identity and citizenship, emphasizing the significance of diversity, tolerance, and non-violent communication. The project sought to empower youth by enhancing their soft skills, crucial for engaging in constructive discourse and promoting social cohesion. Through hands-on activities, workshops, and cultural exchanges, participants emerged as ambassadors for democracy and peace, equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute positively to their communities and beyond. This endeavor was not just about meeting the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme but also about responding to the urgent need for a united front against the challenges threatening democracy and peace in contemporary society.
