Objectives

With this mobility project, we mostly aimed at training courses for staff and teachers in adult education, we wanted to achieve two main things: 1) We aimed to make teaching for adults better by improving what is taught and how it's taught. Teachers learned new and innovative methods through international training (in the training courses of various convenient topics to their professional field). 2) We wanted to make our adult education staff more professional so they can lead effective projects in adult education. These goals were in line with our school's bigger mission of providing great education and expanding the skills of our staff that work not only with vocational education field, but also with adult education. We wanted to focus on teachers and staff in adult education programs of agriculture, construction, catering services, and ITC fields. (As the school offers adults various options, including professional education, modular professional qualifications in six programs, professional qualification certificates in eight areas outside of formal education, and a further education program in collaboration with the Administration of Prisons, called "Technology of Production of Sewn Products").

Background

Vidzeme Technology and design vocational school, a state-founded educational institution supervised by the Ministry of Education and Science, is dedicated to providing high-quality and inclusive education (vocational higher and adult education). Recognized as a competence center for vocational education, the school offers programs in road transport, mechanical engineering, woodworking, agriculture, construction, catering services, technology, computer systems. The school offers different education options for adults, for example, getting a professional qualification or completing specific skill-based programs, or acknowledgement certificates. Within this Erasmus+ project, for adult education at our school, the goals were: 1) To enhance the content of adult educational curricula and teaching methods. This involved empowering educators with innovative approaches gained through international training. 2) To elevate the professionalism of adult education staff, fostering their capabilities to implement high-quality and impactful mobility projects. These goals were strategically aligned with the school's broader mission of providing quality education.
