Objectives

The main objective of the project was to foster environmental awareness and action among students, teachers, and the wider community, in line with UN SDG 15. Through innovative, interactive methods, the project aimed to educate participants about, within, and for the environment. Using Web2.0 tools, STEAM methodologies, and outdoor learning, we wanted to encourage creative thinking and active problem-solving for ecosystem restoration. The project also aimed to strengthen digital, ecological, and intercultural competences, promote collaboration among international partners, and empower participants to transfer knowledge and sustainable practices into their schools and local communities.

Background

We applied for this project to address the urgent need for raising awareness and education on environmental challenges, particularly the degradation of ecosystems and biodiversity loss. Our goal was to train students, teachers, and parents in sustainable practices and environmental restoration through innovative methods. The project focused on SDG 15, promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, reversing land degradation, and halting biodiversity loss. We aimed to develop environmental responsibility using Web2.0 tools, STEAM education, and out-of-school learning. The project encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, intercultural understanding, and community engagement. Participants gained knowledge about environmental issues, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable development, which they shared with their peers and local communities. Through activities like digital posters, e-books, videos, manuals, and international cooperation, we targeted both ecological and digital skills while promoting a stronger connection with nature.
