Objectives

Through this project, we aimed to enhance access to quality and sustainable youth work in geographically isolated, rural areas and disadvantaged neighborhoods across the partner countries. To achieve this, we focused on three key objectives: - Assessing the Current Landscape – We conducted a comprehensive study to analyze existing youth work practices, identify the needs of young people and youth workers, and develop recommendations for improving youth work provision in these communities. - Creating Equal Opportunities – By developing specialized learning opportunities and new youth work models, we sought to bridge the gap in access to youth work services, ensuring that young people and youth workers in rural and disadvantaged areas have the same opportunities as their peers in urban areas. - Ensuring Quality and Sustainability – Through targeted learning activities and the development of inclusive youth work initiatives, we aimed to provide long-term, sustainable solutions that empower both young people and youth work providers in these communities.

Background

Our organizations represent the largest networks of youth work providers at the national level. However, we recognized a significant gap in the accessibility and development of quality, sustainable youth work in rural, isolated communities and disadvantaged neighborhoods. This disparity motivated us to explore existing models and develop new approaches that ensure all young people—regardless of where they live—have equal access to youth work opportunities. The strong participation and enthusiasm of young people from these communities during the project confirmed the urgent need for youth work as a supportive mechanism for their growth and development in their local environments.
