Objectives

We wished to share professional development experiences with European colleagues that would enable us to learn new, successful practices to support students' learning and cultural knowledge and to enhance equity, inclusion and success for all through innovative school management. We wished to understand and experience the links between vision, policy creation, school structures and sustainability. We wanted our participation in the European mobility project to help us grow, seeing that we come from a small school in a small nation state; our professional growth would then lead to more innovative and creative practices in our school.

Background

We are a Church secondary school educating girls aged 11 to 16. As a school community we felt the need to explore innovative pedagogies and to implement new school structures in response to recently-introduced national curricula and syllabi, with a view to offering better learning experiences and assessment practices to mixed-ability students from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds.
