By implementing the project we would like to give tools to the 9 partners and their youth workers (and their young target groups) so as to tackle the problem of environment sustainability. The Project sees a group of 27 youth leaders coming from 8 countries and Malta learning about different workshops and medium used to share the importance of participating actively in the raising awareness on the protection and rehabilitation of the delicate ecosystems of the partners' countries. Through the project, youth leaders from the 9 participating organisations will develop their non - formal education methods and activities as well as ways of evaluating the participants‟ personal development and learning about environmental issues so as to use them back home with their youth target groups. The aim and objectives are as follows: AIM; A TRAINING COURSE AIMED AT INCREASING AWARENESS ABOUT THE DANGERS POSED TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND HOW TO USE NON-FORMAL EDUCATION METHODS TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT IN AN ACTIVE WAY ACROSS THE CONTINENT AND NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES. OBJECTIVES; a) Learning about the various dangers posed to the environment and researching and experiencing different methods to find solutions to the dangers b) To discover about the different environmental dangers present in the 9 countries of the partners and to learn what the different authorities are doing to protect the countries’ environments. c) To learn how Non-Formal education methods and the ERASMUS+ programme can contribute towards finding solutions to the dangers faced by the environment d) To share examples of good practice through the creation of a ‘good practice log book’ and through the running of an exhibition; on energy efficiency using environmentally-friendly materials only. e) To increase the interest of the partner NGO members and members of the partners’ networks to fight the environmental hazards that exist in today’s environment. f) To foster mutual understanding and to live and learn in a multi-national, multi-cultural, intercontinental society for a week and improve one’s cooperative and contributing skills in a team environment g) To create a workshop related to the topic of Environmental Sustainability to be used with the target group back home The 5 pillars of youth work practice are empowerment, education, participation, inclusion and expression. By being each of these 5 elements CLEARLY is clearly of great value for the youth workers that are going to participate in the project in 2023 if it gets approved. Although the programme revolves around the participants which are youth workers, this is done in analogy with the structure of youth work which revolves around the target youth themselves. CLEARLY includes these elements in the following ways: Empowerment: The programme revolves around the participants. The participant youth workers have been involved from the first moment the compilation of the application commenced by sharing their needs and by being involved in the programme. However, the participants are also empowered through he information they will be receiving in the many informative sessions and by giving them the leading role in all the workshop where they can ont only share their own opinion and their identity but they can also learn how to self-criticise and assess progress through the reflection groups. Education: The project educates all on the current need to develop our environmental sustainability. We CLEARLY are not doing enough and we also need to encourage the younger generations to do even more than we have done so far. Our responsibility as youth workers and educators is to make sure we can find methods of educating our target youths on how they can improve their sustainable living. Participation: This project enforces participation. Those who are present as participants are made to contribute and give feed back, share their needs and then (if the project is approved) they will also have to collaborate together with persons coming from totally different backgrounds to their own to learn and to create opportunities for their target groups back home. To make them participate too in this race to save our environment. Inclusion: The project includes people from different regions, from different countries, from different continents and of different accessibility to basic commodities and opportunities. The project revolves around each and every participant so that they may contribute, participate, share, cooperate and create. No-one is left out. Expression: The project is created in a way that all the participants are encouraged to elicit and discuss and recommend according to their experiences, beliefs, knowledge or personal trends. The project encourages that the youth workers criticise and allow for self criticism and to know that it is normal that people around us cannot necessarily have our own same opinion. This is very useful when working with youths.
