The objectives of this training are: 1. To train staff/adult educators to develop skills to facilitate the game Peace Please 2. Expanding our professional network and for both our organisation and the Peace Please game to get better known (and for the game to be more widely used). 3. To learn from the hosting organisation to actively engage members and work with schools and on (educational) festivals.
The Foundation for Active Nonviolence was established in 1966 and is involved in several peace education activities, amongst which are training courses for youth workers across Europe (funded by Erasmus+), but also to other NGOs and activist groups. In 2020 the Training Coordinator initiated the KA2 project "Changing the Game. Developing a Culture of Peace in Organisations" during which a card game, Peace Please, was created, which is the game that's central in this application. Peace Please is a tool to help organisations building a Culture of Peace (CoP) in their organisations. The game can be played independently, but it is it is greatly beneficial if there is a facilitator that can guide the group that's playing. Therefore, we wanted to train several facilitators, so that they can help with giving workshops about the Peace Please game, which will help us to broaden our network and get better known. And as the game will improve the work environment in other places, this can also have a positive impact on our cooperation with others in the future. In addition, we wanted to learn from the hosting organisation Radi Vidi Pats, who has a more active members than we do and who started cooperating with two schools to play our game.
