Objectives

With the GreenComm project, we aimed to develop the communication and media literacy skills of youth workers working in the field of environment and climate change. In this context, we wanted to enable youth workers to produce high-quality, reliable, and effective content for young people by effectively using new media tools. Additionally, enhancing the professional competencies of youth workers, supporting the recognition of their expertise in this field, and contributing to their career development were among our primary objectives. Through the educational program and the Green Communication Platform developed as part of the project, we aim to improve the quality of youth work across Europe and strengthen young people's participation in environmental awareness.

Background

We applied to the GreenComm project with the aim of addressing the gaps in communication and media literacy skills among youth workers working in the field of environment and climate change. Research has shown that youth workers lack the ability to use new media tools effectively and to produce reliable and effective content for young people. Additionally, many youth workers in this field lack professional training and access to opportunities for professional development. Our project aims to address these needs by creating a comprehensive vocational education and training (VET) program and a supportive online platform, thereby promoting sustainable and high-quality youth work across Europe.
